To protect our national security, eliminate any risk to the health, welfare, and safety of the public and Department employees, and to increase productivity in the workplace, it is the policy of the Department that the use of illegal drugs, on or off duty, will not be tolerated. It is the responsibility of every employee to comply with this policy.

a. The Department will promote its policy on illegal drug use through its drug free workplace plan. The plan includes policies and procedures for: Supervisory education and training; Employee education; Employee assistance; and Identification of illegal drug use through drug testing on a carefully controlled and monitored basis.

b. A copy of the Departments current Drug Free Workplace Plan is printed in 3 FAH-1 H-2110.
