On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I extend best wishes to the people of Turkmenistan as you celebrate the 22^nd anniversary of your nation’s independence on October 27.

The United States and the Government of Turkmenistan have worked together to forge a more peaceful and stable region. The United States will continue to work closely with the Government of Turkmenistan on common goals, from expanding bilateral trade and investment to promoting people-to-people exchanges.

On this special day, we share Turkmenistan’s pride in what has been achieved and look forward to deepening our cooperation in the years to come.
