  • Countries implementing control programmes to treat people infected with or at risk of epilepsy-associated tapeworm infection can now benefit from medicines donated to WHO. Under a five-year agreement, the German pharmaceutical company, Bayer, has agreed to donate 2.8 million tablets of niclosamide and 1.5 million tablets of praziquantel to WHO for distribution to affected countries.
