On behalf of the United States of America, I extend to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, and to all our partners and friends in the UAE our congratulations on the UAE’s National Day.

The United States and the UAE are bound together by more than five decades of friendship and partnership. Our many successes stand as a testament to our leaders’ shared commitment to advance regional peace and stability, deter threats, de-escalate conflicts, and drive forward an affirmative agenda for prosperity and peaceful coexistence. Our shared vision of an interconnected region and world is embodied in the historic Abraham Accords and the upcoming 28th Conference of the Parties of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).

In these and many other groundbreaking diplomatic efforts, the UAE’s leadership has been instrumental. As the UAE celebrates its National Day, please accept my best wishes for your continued success.
