15 FAM 711 SCOPE AND APPLICABILITY

This subchapter pertains to the provision of furniture, furnishings, and equipment (FF&E) and certain other items (antiques, works of art, and other cultural heritage objects), for residences, offices, and other functional spaces for Department of State, USAID, other federal agency personnel, and Marine security guards abroad:

(1) 15 FAM 770, Office of Cultural Heritage, details the procedures for identifying and preserving cultural objects;

(2) 15 FAM 730, Representational Residences, gives guidance for managing FF&E for representational residences;

(3) 12 FAM 350, Construction Security and Procurement and Transit Security of Construction Materials, addresses security standards and details the purchase, secure shipment, and inspectability of items purchased abroad for use within a controlled access area (CAA). These standards are found in 12 FAH-6 H-300, Technical Threat; in 12 FAH-6 H-500, OSPB-Approved Policies and Standards for all Posts; and in 12 FAH-6 H-600, Technical Security; and

(4) 6 FAH-5 H-510 contains detailed guidance for managing the residential furniture and appliance pool (FAP) programs.
