U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry traveled to Brussels, Belgium, from October 4-5, 2016.
He lead the United States delegation at the Brussels Conference on Afghanistan. At the Conference, he joined representatives from over 70 other international donors to reaffirm our collective support for Afghanistan’s development and self-reliance.
He also met with Afghan President Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah to discuss our continuing support for Afghanistan and to encourage continued progress in economic development, good governance, anti-corruption, and human rights including women’s rights.
While in Brussels, the Secretary delivered a speech on the transatlantic relationship on October 4 hosted by the German Marshall Fund.
