Q: Fine, and you? How was the meeting?

SECRETARY POWELL: I think the meeting was excellent. We got a chance to know one another and we got a chance to talk about issues of mutual interest to our two countries. We talked about trade, we talked about democracy, we talked about education, we talked about the Quebec summit, we talked about free trade agreements, we talked about F-16s. I think we covered the full range of our relations.

And now I'm going to let the Minister speak to you. (Laughter.)

Q: How much support is for the United States to sign a free trade agreement with Chile?

SECRETARY POWELL: We think it is very important, and the President is committed to it and we're going to do everything we can to bring it into effect as soon as possible. But you know we have our legislative process, and I know that the Minister will also be visiting with Mr. Zoellick to talk about those prospects.
