Since Montenegro regained independence seven years ago, your country has made significant progress in building a more democratic, secure, and prosperous future for all your people. Your partnership with the United States in NATO’s International Security Assistance Force is just one example of the strong collaboration between our two countries. We are committed to promoting Montenegro’s future membership in NATO and the European Union, and we will continue to help you strengthen your democratic institutions in cooperation with your leaders and civil society.

The United States wishes the people of Montenegro a safe and happy holiday. We look forward to enriching our partnership for peace, democratic reform, and economic growth in your country and throughout the region.
