VIENNA (Reuters) - A large police deployment is underway in central Vienna, a police spokesman said on Monday evening as newspaper Kronen Zeitung reported an attack on a synagogue and shots fired.


When asked about the reason for the deployment, the spokesman declined to comment. The newspaper said the attack was on the street that houses the city's main synagogue. It and other media reported shots fired in the area of a nearby square, Schwedenplatz.
