2 FAM 1541 POLICY

a. The Assistant Secretary of Public Affairs (PA) may arrange, with the advice of interested offices, periodic conferences of representatives of national organizations on current foreign policy problems to afford such groups an opportunity to make their views known to the Department and to discuss current problems with responsible officers directly. If these conferences are of a public advisory type, the requirements of section 11 FAM 810 apply.

b. Representatives of national organizations invited to attend such conference shall travel to and participate in them at their own expense. The Department shall provide suitable conference facilities and make other necessary administrative arrangements.
