(The Times of Israel) Former prime minister Naftali Bennett has officially submitted his resignation as alternate premier, after announcing that he would be stepping down imminently ahead of the expected formation of a new government following last week's elections.
His resignation will take effect on Tuesday.
Bennett handed the reins to outgoing Prime Minister Yair Lapid and announced that he would be leaving politics after their power-sharing coalition collapsed and new elections were called in June.
