(CT:OBO-90; 06-27-2019)

Representatives of the post and the Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) must make bi-annual inspections of U.S. Government-held properties. During routine post inspections, OBO area management officers, as part of their assigned duties, must visit representative samples of U.S. Government-held properties, owned and leased, both offices and residences, of the Department of State as well as of other agencies. In addition, 15 FAM 613 requires that post officials inspect U.S. Government-owned/capital lease (GO/CL) properties at least annually. This inspection results in the Annual Inspection Summary (AIS) that is sent in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) module to OBO no later than January 31st of each calendar year. This policy does not apply to U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) properties. Please reference 15 FAM 812.2 for information on Fire Inspections.
