SECRETARY RICE: Well, thank you very, very much. We are coming to celebrate America's 231st birthday. I'm not going to make a long speech because this is a party. And we have a wonderful band, a bluegrass band, Blue Daze, that is going to perform.
One of the great things we have in America, because we are a great multiethnic democracy, people come from all over the world to be Americans. It means we have great variety in our culture and in our cultural heritage.
So tonight, you're going to hear a kind of down-home version of American music and I hope you'll enjoy it and we will permit a little dancing if you would like to do that. (Laughter.)
