Kyiv (Washington Post) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Wednesday that he is convinced that the missile that struck Tuesday in Poland was not Ukrainian.
"I have no doubt that it was not our missile or our missile strike," Zelensky said during a briefing with Ukrainian media that was broadcast live Wednesday. "I'm sure we should be and will be [participating in the investigation] … I want us to be fair, and if it was the use of our air defense, then I want that evidence."
Zelensky said he had received reports from Ukraine's armed forces and air force commands, and "can't help but trust them."
He said he also thinks that Ukrainian officials should have been allowed at the scene of the missile blast. "Do we have the right to be in the investigative group? Of course," Zelensky said.
